One of the MOST useful features i can think of for an information manager, is to be able to have the option to add (unlimited) custom attributes to the program!
So after hours and hours (and yes even more hours) of searching, let us here now finally compile the ultimate list of ALL available information management software that has this so much sought after feature called:
“custom attributes” aka. “custom fields” aka. “custom properties” aka. “metadata”, aka. “user-defined fields” (UDF). aka. “custom forms” etc.
So here therefore is my collection found so far, in the quest for finding the ultimate information manager.
NOTICE PLEASE:
1. the list below is not limited to strictly only “tree-outliners” as such, but includes on purpose basically ANY thinkable software that can be transformed to be used to manage both structured & unstructured information!
2. try to add if possible only software that provides “unlimited” custom attributes, and not like those with only 5 user fields and then no more.
3. if possible, the software should be “available” and not dead.
So here we go:

ConnedtedText can be added to this list. Each document (called “topic” in CT) can be marked up with properties and attributes. The difference between the two is that properties are invisible in the text, while attributes show up as clickable links (by clicking them one is taken to a dynamically generated page containing links to all the topics with the given attribute). There are also extensive search and summary functions to call up properties and attributes (e.g. to summarise queries in list or table form and even embed them within a topic).

I think it’s fairly handicapping to begin a taxonomy with the ambition that this one has without noting that there are several different operating systems on desktop computers, and either stating from the outset that this taxonomy is Windows-only, or including the principal different operating systems in the classification from the outset.

Looks like you’re focused on Windows software, but I would mention:
