I received an e-mail about this and it’s on Evernote’s website as well:

Have you or anyone else on this forum been able to get the Evernote sync to work yet? I’ve tried, setting up as described in the help file, but it won’t work as I keep getting a message saying I need to get an authorization token (which I already did twice). Just wondering if this is a problem with RightNote or just with me.
Thanks.

A quick response from Rael Bauer, the developer of RightNote, to my inquiry about this. Yes. There is a bug in the latest release. You have an option to set a RightNote password to protect your Evernote data (not the same password you use for Evernote itself). If you try to set this password, RightNote and/or Evernote does not recognize the authorization token, so for the time being leave the password blank in the Evernote set up dialog in RightNote. This is going to be fixed in the next release.

Steve, thanks for the heads up and feedback from Rael Bauer. However, my own problem in using RightNote with EverNote is completely different: I am unable to create an EverNote type note in RightNote and then save the file. I get a strange error which I sent to Rael for checking and the application crashes. So I have been unable to create a single EverNote type note to test the sync. The authorisation itself worked fine.
I think the potential is there, but I hope these teething problems will be solved soon. In fact, as I was writing this message, Rael sent me a possible fix.

By the way, I encouraged Rael to write in this forum about the Evernote Devcup challenge. I expect quite a few people here would want to try and support his effort, i.e. a ‘classic’ desktop outliner getting optional cloud sync capabilities without any compromise in its functionality. As soon as I can get it working, I’ll be happy to vote for it.
In fact, I find very interesting the different routes that our two fellow Outliners (Neville and Rael) have taken in cloud functionality, after several years of developing their applications as desktop only.
