Steve, I have a personal database that includes my journal, but also other aspects of my personal life. I also took some time to come to grips with the amount of stuff on the screen. Of course, when you are assigning categories you do not need the groups at the top of the screen, and when you are retrieving, you do not need the groups on the bottom—so I make good use of the ability to change the size of the working window. Also, it is easy to flip into full page mode when reading or writing. Now I hardly give a thought to how the screen looks b/c most of the time I can get it to look how I want it to.
I have found Infohandler the most satisfactory of any program (including the highly rated The Journal) for my journalling. Also, anyone into Progoff"s Intensive Journal method will very much appreciate Infohandler.
